I Am Day 1: Sunday Selah
Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2, ESV)
As we made our way through the study of the “I Am” sayings of the Lord Jesus, we can appreciate that the Lord Jesus was exactly who He claimed to be. We understand that He is the bread of life because He provides spiritual nourishment and sustains spiritual life. He is the light of the world because He provides light to a dark world. He is the resurrection and the life because He conquered death, being raised again on the third day, and provides sinners an opportunity to repent and live. He is the good shepherd because He gave His own life for the sheep. He is the way, the truth, and the life, because He is the only way to Heaven. We are thankful that He is all these things and more, that He is the only begotten Son of God, and that He willingly laid down His own life so that we might have eternal life and be with Him forever.
