Living Effectively for Christ Day 7 – Weekly Thoughts

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39, ESV)

Happy Sunday! I’m not sure what part of your Sunday you’re in—just waking up and getting going (hopefully with some coffee or tea), sitting down for the afternoon, or even settling down for the night. If it’s the morning, I hope you enjoy the day, and if it’s night, I hope you had a good day.

This passage from the Bible is one of my favorites. I’m a big “what if” person, and oftentimes the “what ifs” can be so ridiculous and exaggerated, but that’s where my mind goes. This is the perfect passage for a person like me. When it comes to God, no sort of “what if” could ever separate us from His unconditional, seeking love. Nothing in our own lives, nothing in this world, and nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of Christ. What a beautiful thing!

Today, I want to encourage you to thank Him for His love, and to challenge you to love more like He does. I’m speaking primarily to myself, but our lives would all look so different if we loved unconditionally like He does. As we continue spending time in His Word, I pray that each one of us may have hearts that please Him, worship Him, and serve Him all our days.
