O Come, Let Us Adore Him – Advent Day 11 – Sunday Adoration

Through this Advent study, we will pause each Lord’s Day to simply adore Him, not just for the promises given but for those promises fulfilled!

“The people who sat in darkness have seen a great Light. And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a Light has shined” (Matthew 4:16).

Select lyrics from “A Child Has Come” by Jon Reddick and Janice Gaines:

A weary world rejoices with Heaven
A light has come to heal all creation
A broken world welcomes the Savior
A hope has come, come to save us
Hallelujah, a Child has come
Bringing new life to us, the Son of God with us
Not on a throne, not with a crown
The King of kings was love sent down
Together we stand in wonder and awe
The mercy of God was a gift for us all

To those who sit in darkness, Light has come! Can you picture it today? The Light of a new day, our Morning Star rising?

How has He given you light and life, the rebirth of a fresh start, bright, radiant hope for today and an expanding vision of glory to come?

How does He speak new light over your darkness, day by day, moment by moment? How has He met you this week in a way that causes you to lift your voice in praise to Him this morning?

Even if you feel as though you see only darkness in this moment, can you offer a sacrifice of praise in stubborn, courageous hope to the One who can and will cause you to see Light in His time and way?

We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable—a Light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and Christ the Morning Star rises in your hearts (2 Peter 1:19).
