O Come, Let Us Adore Him – Advent Day 18 – Sunday Adoration
Through this Advent study, we will pause each Lord’s Day to simply adore Him, not just for the promises given but for those promises fulfilled!
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. (Hebrews 6:19, NIV)
And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us. (Romans 5:5, NLT)
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16, NIV)
Select lyrics from “The King Is Here” by Love & The Outcome:
Those lost in darkness have seen a light,
The Savior promised, revealed tonight.
Those hearts in waiting, they wait no more.
This manger baby, He is the Lord.
The weight is lifted, the distance gone;
In flesh appearing, freedom for all,
The angels filling Bethlehem’s skies,
The hope of glory before our eyes.
Let peace arise, the darkness fall;
Let all the earth join Heaven’s song;
The death of death, the end of fear.
Joy to the world, the King is here!
Joy to the world, our King is here!
We rejoice in His coming! We marvel at the King of glory and His willingness to give up His place by the Father’s side to secure ours.
We cannot comprehend the love that compelled Him to endure so much to accomplish the eternal plan of redemption only He could fulfill. It touches and humbles our hearts to realize the “joy set before Him” (that strengthened Him) was His own confident hope that one day He would take each of us by the hand and lead us Home—to be forever with Him in glory and delight by the Father’s side!
Through [Christ] we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. (Romans 5:2, ESV)
O come, let us Adore Him, who is the fulfillment of all our hope!
