O Come, Let Us Adore Him – Advent Day 24 – O Come, Let Us Adore Him-Lyrics and Thoughts

The day is almost upon us, and maybe you feel ready, or maybe you don’t. There will be last-minute preparations to make, and possibly late-night putting together of toys. The tree is lit, and the desire to sit and put your feet up is real. We hope you get the opportunity to do just that, and that when you do, you’ll take time for tender reflection in the stillness.

Our Advent theme was carefully chosen in the hopes that each of us would be drawn to simply come—come before our Savior, worship and adore Him. How worthy He is of all of our hearts and minds, especially on Christmas.

Today, we would simply love to revisit the lyrics of our Advent theme and challenge each of us to meditate on them. As we prepare for the big day tomorrow, let us step aside from the flurry of activity for a few quiet moments and adore Him!

O Come, all ye faithful,
Joyful and triumphant!
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem!
Come and behold him,
Born the king of angels.

Refrain:
O come, let us adore him,
O come, let us adore him,
O come, let us adore him,
Christ the Lord!

Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing, all ye citizens of heav’n above!
Glory to God, all glory in the highest. (refrain)

Yea, Lord, we greet thee,
Born this happy morning;
Jesus, to thee be all glory giv’n!
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing. (refrain)

(John Francis Wade, 1841)
