Relationship Weeds Day 6: Let’s Sum It Up

This week we have been looking at different relationship weeds that damage and wound. As believers, we have been given everything we need to pull these pesky weeds from our lives: we have God’s written Word and the Holy Spirit within us. Are any of these weeds popping up in your relationships? I know I need to be more aware of their prevalence in my own relationships and of how quickly they tear down. As you have joined us this week, I pray that God will help convict you of the weeds you struggle with, and that you will put in every effort to remove them. God wants us to have marriages and relationships that thrive. Weeds are unwelcome intruders into our lawns, choking out good, healthy grass and spreading quickly. That same concept is true in our marriages. If they are left unattended, they quickly take over and ruin what was once good.

Dear Heavenly Father, may Your Spirit convict us of these weeds in our relationships, and may we wisely pull them out. Help us to care about our marriages, refrain from comparison, forgive easily, be honest, and use kind words—and never be harsh. We thank You, Father, for being the perfect example for us, and may we seek to treat others the way You treat us. In Your name we pray, Jesus, amen!

Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105, ESV)
