The Beauty of Boundaries Day 6 – A Song for Our Saturday

“I’ll Wish I Had Given Him More”

By and by when I look on His face,
Beautiful face, thorn-shadowed face;
By and by when I look on His face,
I’ll wish I had given Him more

More, so much more —
More of my love than I e’er gave before.
By and by when I look on His face,
I’ll wish I had given Him more.

By and by when He holds out His hands,
Welcoming hands, nail riven hands;
By and by when He holds out His hands,
I’ll wish I had given Him more.

More, so much more,
More of my love than I e’er gave before,
By and by when He holds out His hands,
I’ll wish I had given Him more.

In the light of that heavenly place,
Light from His face, beautiful face;
In the light of that heavenly place,
I’ll wish I had given Him more.

More, so much more,
Treasures unbounded for Him I adore,
By and by when I look on His face,
I’ll wish I had given Him more.

Happy Saturday! I hope you enjoy the words of this old hymn just like I do. They are truly convicting, as I imagine being face to face with Him in eternity and wishing I would have given Him more. Once we have reached eternity, we can’t go back and change anything we’ve done on earth.

We’ve looked at boundaries in our study, but one Person we don’t need to have boundaries with is Jesus Christ. He is worth all the time we invest in Him. We will never regret the things we have done for the Lord and the effort we’ve made to deepen our relationship with Him. We will end up having some regrets in our lives, but we will never feel that way when it comes to the Lord. I pray that this hymn speaks to you, and that you may live for Him so you can approach eternity without regret.
