The Bold Message of the Gospel Day 6 – Weekly Thoughts

Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:6-7, ESV)

As we’ve looked this week at the boldness of the gospel message, our prayer is that these truths will encourage us. We have the most important message for all the world to hear, and it is our responsibility to share our good news of hope! Furthermore, if you’re reading this study and have not accepted the truth of the gospel, our prayer is that you will do just that! You are in danger of eternal punishment, and until you come to Christ, you are not safe.

I recently read an article that chastised the church for preaching about the second coming of Christ (the Rapture) and hell. The writer stated that she felt it caused stress and fear in children hearing the message and that it was manipulative. May I interject something here? It would be callous and unloving to spare feelings and skirt around truth that is based directly on the Word of God. Had I personally not felt fear and understood my great need for rescue, I would never have come to salvation in Christ.

There will always be opposition to the message of the gospel, but may we go forth with this bold message, knowing God will give us what we need to share it with courage and clarity. It’s our commission as believers. We may never know the impact we’ve had in building up the kingdom of God until we are home with Him. May we be found faithful in boldly sharing the gospel with the world around us, and may its impact be great for the glory of God.
