The Great Deliverer Day 6: Weekly Thoughts

We’ve looked this week at a few of the men and women in the Bible whom God delivered. There are so many more—including me! Since the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve fell into sin, making them vulnerable to all of sin’s consequences, God has been delivering any who come to Him with a repentant heart, seeking forgiveness.

Just as the woman He healed who had the bleeding disorder, God is looking for our faith in His ability to help us. He’s healed people from serious illness. He’s restored broken marriages. He’s brought a prodigal child back home. He’s broken the chains of addiction. He’s rescued lost sinners in need of salvation. He’s delivered so many of us from situations that were painful and, at times, seemed hopeless.

If you are in a place of great difficulty, know that God sees you. He longs to comfort, guide and heal. But more than anything else, God wants all of you. He wants your heart, your devotion, and your faith. He wants you to trust Him with all of it. No matter how impossible things may seem today, we serve a Great Deliverer—the only One with power to redeem and rescue us in those moments of our greatest need. Take it all to Him and lay your burdens at His feet—He’s waiting.

When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. (Psalm 34:17, ESV)Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. (Psalm 50:15, ESV)
