The Necessity of Forgiveness 18: Sunday Selah

The Necessity of Forgiveness Day 18 – Sunday Selah

A traitor. An adulterer. A murderer. A rebellious child. These are some of the people we’ve looked at this week in our forgiveness study. These are all pretty big offenses and sometimes we struggle to find peace and forgiveness regarding them. But God does not.

Nothing is too big for Him to forgive. No sin disqualifies us from His incredible grace and mercy. Isn’t that remarkable? As Christ followers, it should change the way we think so that we open our hearts wide and show to others that same grace He’s shown us. To refuse this is to place ourselves higher than God, saying our standards are higher than His. Apart from His grace, it would be difficult—maybe even impossible—to impart this kind of grace and forgiveness to those who have offended us.

As we gather and worship today, may our hearts be touched by His incredible grace and the forgiveness we enjoy as His redeemed children. He most certainly didn’t owe it to us but His infinite love led Him to extend grace, mercy and forgiveness to us—to sinful me. Thank You, Lord, for this!
