The Necessity of Forgiveness Day 4 – Sunday Selah
“To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” (Acts 10:43, ESV)
It’s the day to collectively gather with our brothers and sisters to remember the Lord and worship Him together. Our worship will consist of many wonderful truths about our Savior, but perhaps the most beautiful truth is the forgiveness of our sins that we received from our Heavenly Father.
Sin is a heavy burden and creates a barrier between us and a holy and just God. And on our own, there’s nothing we can do about it. We can’t free ourselves. We can’t wipe the slate clean. We can’t release the burdens sin creates.
But Christ, our Redeemer and Rescuer, can do what our hearts desire. He can cleanse us, restore us and remove the walls our sin has built. Before we come to Him this morning, let us spend time confessing first, and then receiving His wonderful gift of forgiveness. Our worship will be sweeter as we gather with clean hearts and offer up thanksgiving for all He’s done for us.
